You are Either for or Against

Many Christians do not pick a side when it comes to the Bible versus society. They do this by claiming to be tolerant and loving. They also do not want to be called names and suffer any kind of repercussions that might come with standing up for the Bible.

Society and politics have created many issues that are clearly against the Bible and are evil. Not picking a side, is picking a side, and it is not picking the Bible. Being tolerant of everything, even in the name of love, is the same as being lukewarm. God says in Revelation 3:15-16 he would rather you be cold or hot instead of lukewarm.

There are no good and honorable reasons to support those in society that would go against the Bible. Appearing intolerant, unloving and too righteous is not a reason to ignore and/or support the evil that is taking place. The truth is, one can do wonders in the name of our Lord and still not do what is right. Matthew 7:22-24 says you need to do what God’s word says. No matter the motivation, choosing not to stand up for the Bible is choosing to be friendly toward the world. James 4:4 says that being a friend to the world is being the enemy of God. Although we all sin, we are not to go on deliberately sinning and we should not encourage others (either by support or tolerance) to go on sinning. We are not to let ourselves conform to the world. Romans 12:2 tells us to be mentally stronger than that. Not only are we not to conform to society, but we are to criticize and rebuke the darkness, Ephesians 5:11. We should be able to take some name calling, inconveniences and/or persecution. These things, when received because of the Lord, are actually blessings according to Matthew 5:11.

A Christian is either for or against God’s word and therefore, God himself. As society has shown, when Christians do not stand up for scripture in one biblical area, it leads to a deterioration of biblical values in many more areas.
