Gluttony

Why, as Christians, are we okay with gluttony? Isn’t gluttony sinful? The Christian should look at their body as a temple that houses the Holy Spirit, and take care of that temple.
What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
There are too many Christians that are okay with being physically unhealthy. I’m not saying you should be the perfect male or female specimen, but you should at least be taking care of your body. We currently have a culture that says it’s okay to poison your body and eat until you can’t eat anymore, and just take some medication for anything that comes from that. As Christians we should be rejecting this way of thought and be influencing those around us to help change the culture. We all know that there are people in the Church that won’t go to an event if there isn’t food. The people who take up 2 seats on a church pew. The people who start huffing and puffing after walking up 5 steps. People who can’t run for at least five minutes straight. We should not be accepting this behavior from fellow Christians. The Church needs to do a better job at promoting good health and healthy living/lifestyles.
Imagine you were given a castle, and this was your first time going to see the structure. When you approach the castle you see that the walls have holes, the gate is missing, the towers have crumbled, and the inside is full of dust and debris. That is what you Mr. or Mrs. Christian are subjecting the Holy Ghost to when you do not take care of the temple that is your body. Of course we all get sick and put on a few pounds here and there, but that should not be your lifestyle. We should be striving to be as healthy as we can so we can have as long as we can to spread the Word of God to those in our lives. Gluttony is sinful behavior. Ordering a 20 piece nugget combo with a large fry and shake is just ammo for the dragon that is destroying your castle. Take your health seriously, if not for yourself, at least do it for God.
